“SRL participants can expect to gain self-esteem, knowledge of the local community, as well as leadership skills that will enhance their effectiveness both personally and professionally.  As business success becomes more elusive, these are exactly the skills and experiences businesses need in their current and future leaders,” explains Glenn Morris, President/CEO of the Visalia Chamber of Commerce.  

The goal of the Sequoia Regional Leadership program is to develop effective and visionary leaders with the skills, values and knowledge necessary to sustain successful and unique communities within our valley.  Employers benefit from their employee’s increased knowledge, improved communication and problem solving skills and access to decision makers and community resources.

Twenty participants will begin the program which runs from August 2009 through June 2010.  Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to community and self-development during the 10-month program which focuses on taking leadership roles in the community of Visalia.
