I must admit that I have not attended the past few Oktoberfest events organized by the Visalia Chamber of Commerce. This is not to slight the work of the volunteers that organized theses events. There was simply nothing compelling me to participate with those who have.

Now I am looking forward to attending and actively recruiting others to attend. There are two changes that are attracting me this year, the entertainment and the venue.

The SoundnVision Foundation Executive Director, Aaron Gomes is responsible for bringing incredible entertainment to Visalia. His partnerships with the Cellar Door and Howie and Son's ensure we get great live entrainment at hospitable venues every week. The Chamber has partnered with SoundnVision Foundation to provide three energetic bands from various genres. Merle Jagger, Kemaya, and Strange Vine playing one venue promises an entertaining party for everyone.

The Rawhide stadium will be an exciting new outdoor setting for this event. Attendees will be able to network better in the open air, even during the lively entertainment. The organizers have achieved the best of both worlds; exciting entertainment attracting new attendees while improving the networking opportunities for everyone there.

Great job Visalia Chamber of Commerce! I for one am looking forward to Oktoberfest on October 8th.
