On Tuesday, June 2nd, Lynn Jacobs, Director of the California Department of Housing and Community Development, came to Visalia to speak to local government officials and business representatives from throughout the San Joaquin Valley.  Jacobs’ keynote speech was part of an all-day funding and technical assistance forum held at the Visalia Convention Center.  Nicole Parra with the State of California’s Business, Transportation and Housing agency and Mike Lane with Self-Help Enterprises were co-chairs for the event.

Before our day session Anita & Ben gave everyone in our class “homework’ to attend any type of cultural event, preferably one they have never attended before.  We would discuss the different events over the day.

This is the time of year when we celebrate the thousands of students graduating from Visalia Unified School District.  From late May through the first week in June, VUSD launches our graduation season which includes our high schools, alternative schools, adult school, and nursing program.  We hold ten ceremonies in eight days!  In these precious few days, we shake hands with each and every one of our graduates and re-fill our inspirational tanks for the entire next year!

TPG Consulting recently completed design work for the roadway modifications necessary for the soon-to-be built Plaza Business Park in Visalia. After extensive planline preparation in cooperation with City staff, TPG provided signing & striping installation plans for Plaza Drive, Crowley Avenue, Hurley Avenue and Campus Drive (east and west), the signing & striping removal plans for Plaza Drive, Crowley Avenue and Hurley Avenue, and the traffic signal plans for the intersections of Plaza at Crowley and Plaza at Hurley.
