The corner at Giddings and Murray is a community gathering place where the phenomenon of minor league baseball has provided affordable family-oriented entertainment for more than 62 years.  “Minor League Baseball has become the best family entertainment in the country,” explains Visalia Rawhide President/General Manager Tom Seidler.

The 2009 season has come to a close a Recreation Ballpark and the sun sets on the inaugural season of the Visalia Rawhide.  Visalians came out in record numbers this season and helped turn the summer into one of the most successful in history both on the field, and off.

The season has been a tremendous success so far for the Visalia Rawhide both on the field and off.  The Rawhide enjoyed one of the best starts to the season in Cal-League history going 10-0 to open 2009 back in April.  A mark that ties the 1978 Visalia Oaks team who previously held the record alone.  Coincidentally, that was the last season that Visalia celebrated a California League championship.

The open house held at Recreation Ballpark in April proved to be a big success for the Visalia Rawhide.  Fans were able to see the new renovations before opening day and get a first look at the finished product.  Both the players and fans are now able to enjoy the new facilities.

As renovations and the new right field concession stand at Recreation Ballpark enter their final phase of construction, the Visalia Rawhide announced a completely revamped food lineup for 2009.
